Outfit of the Day: a dash of colour

Today I thought I'd show two colourful dresses that I've worn this week.

Both dress are just so easy to wear and very comfortable.

I love nice warm sunny days as I get to break out the dresses.

I also used Model Co Self Tanning Lotion (with application glove) and was very happy with the results as I am VERY fair.

This oufit was on a cooler day so I wore black tights. Please excuse the bandage as I had sprained my ankle.
I love the earrings that a friend got my when she went to Peru recently.

This outfit was worn to a casual lunch with the family at the local club on a nice warm sunny day.

I paired the dress with grey ballet flats and heart beaded long gold tone necklace, and hot pink watch.

I am traveling to the US in 5 weeks (actually 4.5) and am trying to save $$$ by wearing items I already own. I've been surprised how much I have and what I can put together. And the array of items with tags is terrible great.

The great thing about this is that I've also put up a bunch of items on eBay that I know I just won't use/wear.

I'd love to hear what you think about the above outfit and my blog in general. Please comment below.

A Touch of Green: Bedroom Shakeup

Ok, so I woke up this morning and layed in bed for a while looking at my sheets and quilt which where both navy and thought, "i need a change" ... "something bright". Naturally the thing to do was go shopping for some green sheets =) (i know what some would be thinking 'why green Racheal').
I absolutely love the colour of my sheets which are a bright lime green as I feel its uplifting and makes the room look larger. I feel in love with the green as soon as I saw them (i'm normally more of a pink and purple girl)
What do you think?

I included this photo as it really shows the lime green.

and this is my beautiful little man making it hard for me to change the quilt.

I love how such a simple thing can make a huge difference to a room.

I'd love to hear you opinions and what you do make changes to your home.

Thanks for reading,

xoxoxo

Roaring 20s / Jazz themed jewels

I had a productive weekend and brought a few things that I thought I'd share.

First thing I purchased was some Jazz / Roaring 20s inspired jewels for a friends engagement party in 2 weeks. I brought it all at Diva and will be pairing it with a Peter Morrissey Black cocktail dress. I thought a black & white theme might suit Jazz well.

This is everything i brought in Diva.
First is a white feather and diamondtee hair clip ($12.99)
This cute earrings feature a cluster of simulated pearls with small diamondtee accents ($8.99)
I love these earrings as I know I will wear these over and over again..
Thirdly, this is the amazing layered necklace which is just devine.
I love that it has ribbon to tie to desired length. Again this is versatile and will be worn again. ($29.99)

I love fun jewelry and Diva never fails me.

I think these items will do the job for the Jazz inspired engagement party. I will post pictures of the complete look in 2 weeks but I just couldn't resist sharing this amazing items.

I haven't decided on shoes or bag yet, but I am considering purchasing one of the tights below by Leona Edmiston. What do you think? I'm thinking black/red stripe or poka dots.

Well its a happy Sunday from me. I've also made some updates around the house (mainly the main bedroom) that I may share a little latter.

Hope you've enjoyed my items, and I'd love to hear your ideas about great Jazz and Roaring 20s looks, and advice on hair and make up options.

Outfit Of The Day : Its all about colour

I am currently trying to save for my shopping trip in 6 weeks so have been trying to wear items I already have in my closet.
The beauty of this is I arrived at work today with several comments on the colour and my entire outfit as I hadn't worn it in a while.
I found this Barkins pink/purple skirt and paired it with a Witchery black cotton top, black snake print vintage belt and 2 necklaces (heart/short = Goldmark & long pink beaded Big W).

These cute bow flats are just divine and a steal at only $20 in Target.

And I can never leave home for work without a carry all tote for shopping after work.
Love this Mimco orange and white stripe tote.

I'd love to hear some of your advice on how you re-invent your wardrobe below !

These are a few of my favorite things ...

This being my first post I felt it was only fitting that I start with a collage of my current purchases and most used items at the moment.

As you can see I love a pop of colour and love all things cute and girly.

I wear hair clips on a weekly (as the least) basis. I have straight, long blonde hair so a pop of colour never hurts :-)

The above items clockwise from left top:
- pink shorts are Forever New (comfortable and fashionable: and I got them for 30% off = steal),
- silver heart necklace is a gift from my parents and its from Goldmark,
- Black lace top is Stella McCartney for Target (my fav black top),
- variety of clips from Forever New / Forever 21 / Equip / Collette,
- striped dress is from Big W (steal at $19.98) and the belt and necklace are old,
- white bow headband is MIMCO (divine),
- Harajuku Lovers G fragrance (I'll admit that I mostly love this because it's so cute. Brought this duty
  free in Vanuatu),
and last but certainly not least
- my new Review bow clutch which I'll finally get to use in 2 weeks
